Yes. I preordered the Ultimate Edition and have been playing it since launch day. And I Love It! Best Tekken game since Tekken 5 imo. Better than Tekken 5? Idk because I may have too much nostalgia for 5. But certainly a fantastic Tekken game :D
As for the newcomers, they’re probably the best set of newcomers since Tekken 3 imo.
Azucena feels like a tribute to Tekken’s silly side. And I’m all for it. I like her fighting style, her design and her infectious energetic personality, and her home stage is one of my favorites in the game. She’s fun to use to even if I haven’t exactly used her too much yet.
I was skeptical about Victor Chevalier going at first. His gameplay reminded me of Noctis in Tekken 7, and I’ve never been too big on guest characters in Tekken, even if I enjoy playing as them. Noctis least of all though definitely. But Victor slowly won me over with his design, personality, gameplay and not to mention his status in the lore as the leader of the Raven Unit that has been around since Tekken 5.
And then there’s Reina.
Ohhhhh I LOVE Reina 😍. She’s my new favorite female character in the franchise without a doubt. With Heihachi dead, Reina had enormous shoes to fill, and she definitely fits in them quite well. She’s really fun to play, very nicely designed, has a delightfully sassy personality that commands respect, and given what happens in the main story mode, which I won’t spoil here, she definitely means big things for the future of the franchise. I’m sure she is here to stay and I’m all for it.
That's awesome to hear.
Hey Green, did you got Tekken 8? If so, what's your opinion on it and on the newcomers?
I myself still got the demo of it.
Thanks for the fav!
You’re welcome 😇
Hey Green, did you saw the new Total Drama season? If so, what's your opinion on it?
If you mean the first one earlier this year, and not the second one that recently began airing or may actually already be done idk I haven’t been keeping track lately, then Yes I have.
The new season is pretty darn good, and I definitely think it’s a step up from All-Stars and Pahkitew. Admittedly my old reviews of those, especially All-Stars, probably haven’t aged well.
The new cast is overall a fun one and feels more like a return to form compared to the mostly gimmicky cast of Pahkitew. My fav character in the cast is Bowie. He’s a refreshing take on a TD antagonist in that he’s not super malicious and mean like Alejandro and Heather, even though I love those characters still, and he’s also not evil to the point of being cartoony like Mal and Scarlett. Of course he’s also not afraid to play sneaky and dirty, but this comes off as more strategic than purely out of petty spite. It helps that I also think he’s the funniest character in the cast, with a lot of snarky one-liners particularly in the confessional.
There are several other characters I like as well. MK, Wayne and Raj, Zee, I even like Lauren despite her being the most gimmicky character in the cast.
A few characters I didn’t like though. Ripper is basically Owen if he was an A-hole and only being used for Toilet humor. He got old really quick and lasted longer than he should have imo. Easily my most hated character in the cast is Chase, who is Dave if he was less of an entitled lovesick lunatic and more of an entitled lovesick idiot. He just got progressively dumber and more annoying as the season went on. Emma was similarly not much better as she somehow convinced herself she and Chase were a healthy couple by the end to the point of being pushy and stupid to the exasperation of the rest of the cast and me.
The eliminations are a mixed bag. Some, like Caleb’s, are actually out-of-nowhere and engaging, while others pull some last-minute swerve, like Zee’s, to make the elimination painfully predictable. I will say though I definitely like the buildup to each elimination how you see the cast walking to the campfire each time to dramatic music. That’s great.
The challenges were cool. Can’t really think of a bad one. Probably the closest bad one is the baked beans one. We already have one character in the cast sorely used for toilet humor, we didn’t need the rest of the cast getting in on it.
Chris and Chef’s new VAs are fine but sadly can’t hold a candle to their original VAs. It’s a bit odd to see Chef play the role of the “Sane man,” between the two as in early seasons he was just as excited to torture the contestants as Chris is. Regardless, it’s great to see them again.
Overall probably give the new season a 7.5 or 8/10. My fav season is still the original TDI, and even that one isn’t without its flaws. It’s great to see Total Drama back after such a long hiatus. Eager to check out the rest of the second new season down the road. I’ve seen the first episode and it’s an overall good start.
